be it all the time
be it night or day
take my sun away
away...

levelor, which of us is blind?
levelor left me in the dark
levelor, i can't see a thing but you
is it morning?

blind me please
i am on my hands and knees
i can only pray
take my sun away
away...

levelor, which of us is blind?
levelor left me in the dark
levelor, i can't see a thing but you
is it morning?

it is time
it is time, oh oh

levelor, which of us is blind?
levelor left me in the dark
levelor, i can't see a thing but you
is it morning?

I know everyone has probably read this on the board, but I thought I should post it anyway...

After a four-year absence, Veruca Salt will return to North American stages this fall with new music and the promise of a new full-length effort due next summer. The Louise Post-fronted act will embark on an 11-day tour Oct. 10 in Phoenix, with an EP, "Lords of Sounds and Lesser Things," to be sold only at shows and through its official Web site.

The Chicago-based rock act -- guitarist/singer Post, guitarist Stephen Fitzpatrick and drummer James Madla -- has been recording with producer Rae Dileo.

The band scored a 1994 modern rock hit with "Seether," and after three albums on Minty Fresh and Outpost saw the 1998 exit of guitarist/singer Nina Gordon, bassist Steve Lack and drummer Jim Shapiro. The new lineup released 2000's "Resolver" through Beyond Music. Post also participated in "Forever In Our Hearts," a single recorded December 2004 to raise disaster relief funds for the tsunami that devastated South Asia.

Hey guys! Apparently VS have a new EP coming out. Says billboard.com :

There's nothing on Verucasalt.com about the EP yet.
It's a pity I can't take the 16-hour flight to Phoenix to see them. I'd love to get a hold on the EP.

Who here has seen Veruca Salt in concert?

I never thought I would get to, EVER, but I did :) They did a show in my town, Newcastle (Australia), on January 8, 2005.

Here is the LJ post I made the day after:

Wow, that concert last night was awesome. Probably the best I've ever been to.

The support bands were hard to get through cause I really just wanted to see Louise.

Eventually the came on. The fucking rocked. The band played so well, and some of the greatest Salts songs!

About the forth or fifth song Louise looked over at me (we were in the front row to the left) and smiled at me. I think she knew I was a big fan cause I smiling/singing/screaming/rocking out. At the end of the song she came over in front of Laurz and I and pulled her guitar in front of us and I touched it and her. When the song ended she bent down to me and put her pick in my hand. I HAVE LOUISE POST'S PLECTRUM!! So grateful.

Anyways, we could se ethe set list from where we were and I was kinda disappointed that she wasn't going to play ONE LAST TIME but after a song she just started singing it a cappella and we all joined in. I could barely sing cause I was so overwhelmed that she was singing my favourite song in front of me that I was crying. It was such a crazy/awesome experience.

During one song she came out to the apron of the stage in front of us and we all reached up and plucked the strings... I was helping to play a VERUCA SALT song! Fuck.

When she returned from the encore I screamed out "I LOVE YOU LOUISE" and she turned our direction "who said that? awww... i love you too." At least now she knows. Her music got me through high school and two breakups.

She finished with HELLRAISER and I went off. God I love that song. She put her guitar down and came straight over to me and hugged me and I kissed her cheek and I had her sweat all over my face. Kinda gross, heh, but it was LOUISE POST. I really didn't mind.

The guitarist, Stephen, was so cool too. He played the entire gig with his crotch in my face cause he interacted with the audience, especially Laurz and I, and spent the whole time on the apron. He gave Laurz his pick too. He smiled and rocked out with me lots. So cool.

And the drummer was lots of fun. When they left before the encore and stood at the stage door making "i can't hear you" actions. Laurz and I clapped and clapped and followed his ups and downs with his hands. He was funny. And he encouraged me to clap in time when he wasn't drumming yet. He gave Fraggie his drumstick.

Man, this concert really hit me. I cried in ONE LAST TIME & WET SUIT. And she SANG like Louise Post on the albums. Such a talented/beautiful/sexy lady.

And she played
STRAIGHT

I love Louise Post.

{Best concert. Better than sex and alcohol and... well... it IS rock n roll.}

***Laurz is my best friend, who was there too.

Post YOUR Veruca Salt experiences!! please?

To shame you have a mind of your own now
Shame on you, completely setting the tone now
I caught you bleeding under my skin now
I fought you, but you're beginning to win now
Well I don't care, I swear it's my turn now

Shimmer, shimmer like a girl should, yeah
Shimmer, shimmer like a girl should, yeah
Shimmer, shimmer like a girl should
You gotta get it glimmer, shimmer, sparkle while you can

Shame crashing, falling off of the tracks now
Whip cracking at the small of my back now
I failed you and they're beginning to talk now
I nailed you until you're walking the walk now
Well I don't care, I swear it's my turn now

Shimmer, shimmer like a girl should, yeah
Shimmer, shimmer like a girl should, yeah
Shimmer, shimmer like a girl should
You gotta get it glimmer, shimmer, sparkle while you can

Shimmer, shimmer like a girl should, yeah

Shimmer! Yeah!
Shimmer like a good girl!

Albion Entertainment Announces The Release Of
THE STILL LIFE In September 2005

Los Angeles, CA – First-time director Joel Miller and Los Angeles-based Albion Entertainment explore the fragile separation between failure and success and love and tragedy with their debut film, THE STILL LIFE, set to be released in September 2005. Starring Jason Barry (Titanic), the film is about the redemption of an artist who struggles to regain himself and his identity after giving in to conventional success.

This passionate, urban drama details the life of reclusive, alcoholic artist Julian Lamont (Jason Barry, Titanic) and his journey along a path of destructionism – a new genre of art that he accidentally develops during a night of self-loathing. Throughout the film, he is faced with a myriad of relationships that force him to take responsibility for his personal choices and to make a decision about
the kind of artist that he wants to be. THE STILL LIFE co-stars Lamont’s mean and bitter landlord, Mrs. Stratford (Terry Moore, Welcome Back Little Sheba), his girlfriend (Rachel Miner, Bully), and her boss, a respected art dealer (Don S. Davis, Stargate SG-1).

Miller gained experience in the film world by serving as a set dresser on numerous productions, including “All the Rage” starring Giovanni Ribisi. Previous to forming Albion Entertainment, he worked at a recording studio, and toured with several bands including Guns N Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, The Cranberries and Poison. While traveling with these bands, Miller gained an even deeper appreciation for art and began working on THE STILL LIFE. Miller took his film and music experiences and brought his idea to fruition.

THE STILL LIFE came together incorporating up and coming actors and established musicians to create an entertainment powerhouse. The film also features Holly Fields (Wild Roomies), Angel Boris (General Hospital), and Robert Miano (Donnie Brasco) along with a myriad of cameos from Jonathan Davis (lead singer of Korn), Josh Todd (lead singer of Buckcherry), Domenica Cameron-Scorcese, Billy McNamara (Copycat), Kato Kaelin, Al Snow (WWE Wrestler), Yolanda King (Daughter of Martin Luther King Jr.), Dizzy Reed (Guns N’ Roses), Louise Post (Veruca Salt), and more.

Is an artist's art really worth his reward? Make your own decision. THE STILL LIFE will be released September 2005 in select theatres.

Louise Post is gonna be in a movie called THE STILL LIFE. It is currently in post-production but should be out soon.

She has a small role in THE STILL LIFE as a lounge singer, and Dizzy Reed (Guns N Roses) plays the pianist.

Just so you know :)
